Fleas-r-gone!

My sister has an older cat, and two young sons, 7 and 9. She was whining to me on the telephone a few days ago how she has a problem with fleas, that her little boys can not even sit in the floor to play without getting attacked by the horrible pests.
"What do I do?" she asked.

I have had dogs and cats my whole life, therefore, fleas are a problem that I have definitely had experince in dealing with. I told her how I deal with the problem: a combination of assaults to get rid of them. The pets' bedding must be treated, the pet themselves must be treated, and, depending on the severity of the infestation, sometimes the whole house itself needs to be treated as well. This really is not as difficult as it sounds. Once you understand the steps to treating and eventually, preventing a flea infestation, it is just one more maintenance type thing that you must do in life.

My best weapon in keeping my life free of these horrible pests? Frontline! This stuff really works! I am not sure I would be winning the war on fleas without it!

Get some Frontline, treat all of your pets and write and tell me your success story!

Fleas-r-gone!

Fleas-r-gone!

Steps for getting your home and pet to be flea free:

1. Vacuum frequently. This will help greatly, by vacuuming up fleas, their eggs, etc.

2. Bathe your pet in a good flea killing shampoo. Be sure to only use cat shampoo for cats, or a product that is ok for both cats and dogs. Cats lick their fur and therefore, you can easily poison your pet if you are not careful! And yes, cats can certainly be bathed! If you are uncomfortable with doing this task yourself, find a good grooming shop that bathes cats.

3. Wash your pet's bedding, in the washing machine, in hot water.

4. If you have a real problem with infestation, you will need to 'bomb' your home with several of the spraying 'bombs' that are sold in stores. Be sure to read the directions carefully, cover fishtanks and remove all pets and children from the premises. This is really not as much of a problem as it sounds. After a few hours, you come back inside, ventilate the home, and resume your life again. Without fleas!

5. Put Frontline on your pet. It is made for both dogs and cats, and comes in various sizes for big or small dogs. This stuff really works! Be certain to read the directions carefully though, becasuse you want to be certain to place it on your pet properly. It is not difficult at all to use, but you do want to follow directions. For instance, the directions tell you that you must not put it on your dog or cat if they just received a bath. It needs time to get into the pet's natural skin oils to work properly.

6. Frontline is a monthly flea killer that really will keep your pet (and your home!) free of fleas! I have been using this product for years, with great success! There is nothing out there that works like this stuff, and believe me, I have tried them all! Good luck!
